Crowe Valley Conservation Authority - Flooding Outlook
The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has updated the FLOOD OUTLOOK STATEMENT effective immediately and will remain in effect until the 30th of April 2025.
Levels and flows have continued to recede from the recent highs experienced during the period from the 17th to the 23rd of April 2025. Despite recent rainfall, current levels and flows will continue to decrease or stabilize at or near seasonal norms for this time of year.
Rainfall is forecasted for the upcoming weekend, however the CVCA is not anticipating adverse results from forecasted precipitation. However, there is a slight possibility the downward trend of levels and flows could be slowed. This would primarily affect smaller tributaries and only for a short duration, therefore only minor flooding could be anticipated for low lying areas.
ALTHOUGH LEVELS AND FLOWS ARE RETURNING SLOWLY TO SEASONAL NORMS, THE CVCA CONTINUES TO URGE EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN TO STAY AWAY FROM ALL DAMS, WEIRS, HYDRO GENERATING PLANTS, BRIDGES AND ALL WATERCOURSES. CURRENT FLOWS IN RIVERS AND LARGER STREAMS OR CREEKS CAN STILL EASILY SWEEP PEOPLE INTO A DANGEROUS SITUATION CAUSING HARM OR DROWNING ACCIDENTS.
CVCA staff will continue to monitor levels and flows daily as per normal operations. If there are any questions or concerns CVCA staff can be reached at 613-472-3137.
The CVCA includes portions of the municipalities of Trent Hills, Stirling-Rawdon, Marmora and Lake, Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, North Kawartha, Wollaston, Limerick, Tudor and Cashel, Faraday and Highlands East.
