Deposit Return Program - Community Partner
The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen is interested in improving resident access and participation in deposit return systems in order to reduce these containers from entering the Blue Box system. The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen is interested in partnering with local organizations to provide a “depot” site at the 6th Line Transfer Station.
The outcomes of this partnership are to:
- Build community relationships
- Increase residential access to appropriate provincial deposit return recycling systems
- Improve the awareness of recycling within the County of Peterborough
- Provide funding for community partner
Application's are to be submitted by: May 31, 2025 at 4:00 pm
County Rd 48 (George St E) Road Closure & Construction Notice
As of Monday, April 21st, 2025, George Street between Victoria Street and Oak Street will be under reconstruction for infrastructure improvements of new road surface, curb, sidewalk and parking stalls similar to George Street Project Phase 1 in 2024.
The Construction will begin April 21st with preparation, and shortly after will close the road with limited local access to residents and any business affected. If your residence is affected you will receive a parking pass to use public parking overnight and daytime while you are affected.

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Cemetery Board is governed by the
Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, as amended, and as administered by
the Bereavement Authority of Ontario.
The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Cemetery Board shall manage and
oversee the operation of all cemeteries within the Township of Havelock-Belmont-
Methuen.
Please submit the ‘Municipal Volunteer Application Form’ Online, via e-mail, fax, regular
mail or drop-off to the Municipal Office by May 15, 2025
