The Council of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen invites applicants to serve on the Mathison Property and Parks Committee and Youth Committee.

Municipal Volunteer Application

HBM Roadways - ORV / ATV Access is Prohibited

HBM ROADWAYS - ATV ACCESS IS PROHIBITED (DEC 1 - MAR 31)

As of Sunday, December 1, 2024, Off-Road Vehicles (ATVs) are not permitted on HBM municipal or Peterborough County highways from December 1st to March 31st annually, as per By-Law 2024 – 024.

Any person who contravenes the provisions of By-Law 2024 – 024 is guilty of an offence and on conviction, where a fine for the contravention is not otherwise provided under the Highway Traffic Act, is liable to a fine under the Administrative Monetary Penalty (AMP) By-law 2024 - 024.

IMPORTANT REMINDER - ORV / ATV’s are prohibited year-round from travelling:

  • Sidewalks, driveways, pedestrian walking paths, private land, or roadways (without permission)
  • Mathison Conservation Area (north of Havelock Arena)
  • Municipal Parks and Playground areas, as well as unopened road allowances

ORV / ATV’s are welcome in the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, but riders must abide by Municipal By-laws and the Highway Traffic Act.
