HBM Township - Storm Update, Apr 2nd @ 2:45pm

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen (HBM) has maintained the Declaration of Significant Weather Event due to another weather system to impact our area this afternoon and through to tomorrow morning, however, the freezing rain event will not be nearly as significant as the ice storm from this past weekend.
As per Environment Canada's April 2, 2025 @ 5:00 am weather statement; anticipate snow beginning early this afternoon then changing to ice pellets this afternoon. Local snow and ice pellet amount 2 cm. Freezing rain changing to rain late this evening. Risk of a thunderstorm late this evening and overnight amounting to 20 to 30 mm.

Power has been restored to most of the HBM Community Centre, and showers will be available during the following dates and timeframes.
· Wed. @ 5 pm – 7 pm
· Thurs. @ 5 pm – 7 pm
· Fri. @ 5 pm – 7 pm
· Sat. @ 10 am – 12 pm
· Sun @ 10 am – 12 pm
Residents will be able to charge their phones and electrical devices in the change rooms and warming area. There is bottled water available to residents.
HydroOne Service
Residents can check the Hydro One Stormcentre Outage Map for updates. Residents are urged to stay away from downed power lines, even if they do not appear to be live. Any power line damage should be reported to Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235.
