Notice of the Passing of a By-law - To dissolve the Ward System of Electoral Representation for the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen and Institute an At-Large System of Electoral Representation
TAKE NOTICE that on the 15th day of October 2024, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen passed By-law 2024-074 pursuant to Section 222 of the Municipal Act, 2001.
AND TAKE NOTICE that By-law 2024-074 provides for the dissolution of Wards and the implementation of an At-Large System of Electoral Representation.
AND TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that pursuant to Section 222(4) of the Municipal Act, 2001, any person or agency may appeal within 45 days of the passing of the by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal in respect of the by-law by filing with the Clerk of the Corporation of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen a notice of appeal setting out the objections to the by-law and the reasons in support of the objections. This notice of appeal must be accompanied by a certified cheque or money order in the amount of $1,100.00 made payable to the Minister of Finance.
Any notice of appeal must be filed with the Clerk’s Office of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen at the address below, not later than 4:30 p.m. on the 29th day of November, 2024. Additional information regarding By-law 2024-074 may be obtained from Bob Angione, Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk at 705-778-2308 ext. 424 or on the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen website www.hbmtwp.ca or by attending the Office of the Municipal Clerk at 1 Ottawa Street East, Havelock Ontario.
