Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment (Shipping Containers)

SHIPPING CONTAINERS UNDER COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

Take notice Council will hold a Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 9:30 am and is considering a Zoning By-law Amendment, which will have the effect of amending and adding certain definition and provisions as they relate to shipping containers.

As proposed, the Zoning By-law Amendment will establish shipping containers as a permitted accessory use in the Rural (RU), Agricultural (A), Local Commercial (C1), Commercial Tourist (C2), Commercial Trailer Park (C3), Restrictive Industrial (M1), Extractive Industrial (M2), and Disposal Industrial (M3) Zones, subject to specific regulations and provisions. 

The amendment is considered to have application to ALL lands within the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen. 

HBM Township residents are welcome to attend the meeting either in Council Chamber, or, virtually via Zoom.  The Council Meeting Agenda, as well as supporting documentation, are available on our website at https://calendar.hbmtwp.ca/council/ and the meeting zoom link is noted on the first page of the Meeting Agenda and there is no need to provide your email to participate.
